Gloucester County Library System

Outspoken Library

New Jersey veterans and New Jersey residents of any age who cannot easily read a standard print book, magazine or newspaper because of visual impairment, physical disability, or learning disabilities now have access to Outspoken Library computer kiosks at the Logan and Mullica Hill Branches of the Gloucester County Library System (GCLS).  The computer kiosks have been provided by the New Jersey State Library Talking Book & Braille Center (TBBC).

Outspoken Library offers access to Audiovision Newspaper Reading Service and the National Federation for the Blind’s Newsline, containing over 300 newspapers, magazines and wire services.

The Outspoken Library kiosk also has live links to services administered through TBBC such as access to the Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD). BARD currently provides over 18,000 digital books for download which can be played on a TBBC issued digital talking book player.  Video demonstrations and instructions on how to do a BARD download are also found on each Outspoken Library kiosk.

Qualified residents may apply for access to the service at the library.  Get more information about the services of the Talking Book and Braille Center on their web site, http://njsltbbc.org, or by calling Toll-Free: 1-800-792-8322 or TTY: 1-877-882-5593.

The Logan branch of GCLS is located at 498 Beckett Road in Logan Township.  The Mullica Hill branch is located at the corner of Route 45 and Wolfert Station Road in Mullica Hill.
